O REFÚGIO

O Refúgio offers simple European-style accommodations above the Douro River in the village of Canelas, 30 miles east of Porto. We offer a simple, beautiful place to unplug and connect with God and nature through community, creativity, creation care, and reflection.

O Refúgio consists of two different guest room buildings available for Group Retreats as well as Private Retreats. All retreats have a two night minimum stay.

Our Casa Grande is undergoing updates throughout the year to make your stay even more enjoyable. You’ll notice new lights, paint, and decor in the rooms already restored. We can accommodate up to 26 guests in 11 rooms with five shared bathrooms. Our two newly renovated Studios have private bathrooms and a shared kitchenette. Each studio sleeps two (two singles or a double). Groups with over four guests can book the Casa Grande, while individuals, couples, or small families would stay in the Studios.
